I finished my triangle quilt this weekend! I think this is my favorite quilt that I've made so far.
Tons of bright colors, alternating with black and white prints make the quilt colorful and fun but with places for your eyes to rest. The quilt was inspired by this awesome pillow that Jeni made.I quilted on both sides of each seam, which took forever but was well worth the end result.
Bound in a black and white pindot to tie in with the black and white fabrics throughout the quilt.
The back is really fun too! Another row of triangles, arranged this time in color order. My favorite Echo print filling up the rest of the back.
It coordinates really well with the front and I love the pop of that pinkish purple!
The quilt is a large lap size, at about 62 x 80".
It's head out to it's new home now, I'm going to miss it!
I think I need to make another one just for me at some point. I'm going to need to go shopping for more black and white prints before that happens though, between this quilt and the new one I started yesterday, I'm almost out!
new home?! i wouldn't have been able to bear to give that one away!!!!
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO lovely!!! I love it. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can see why this is a favorite. I love what you did with this! The colors and black/white prints are balanced perfectly -- so bright and modern!
ReplyDeletethis is so lovely!! i am really crazy for these triangles, and need to get started on a triangle quilt i've got planned with some good folks.
ReplyDeleteyesterday i tried some straight line quilting with my free motion foot - on a whim, wondering how it would look. i'm not too happy about it, because i got a little too wonky in places, and i had some puckers.
we have the same machine, so can i ask for some tips on straight line quilting with your horizon? do you use the dual feed foot? do you adjust the pressure on your presser foot? how do you baste? and do you alternate directions? i've never been successful with straight line quilting, but i'd love to learn how to do it right!! your lines here look great!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt. how do you keep the rows in a straight line? Can you explin how to sit the quilt together and what size are the triangles. hey that would be a great giveaway, precut triangles, hint hint i suggest this because i hate cutting quilt pieces. i have severe arthritis in my back and hips and cant stand for very long. babscorbitt@gmail.com
