I just got back from spending a few days with my sisters and our dad in the little town of Holden Beach, NC.  I haven't had time to edit our photos yet but I did want to share that I finally tried my hand at sewing clothes.  I made two dresses to wear on our trip, one of which I wore during the wedding.  This is not the greatest picture of my sisters and I, but it was sunny and really windy (and about 100 degrees and humid!) and it's the best we could do at the time.  It does show the dress I made though, even if it is a little wrinkly at this point!  It's the Socialite Dress from Anna Maria Horner, made using a khaki and white Premier Prints fabric I bought last year.
I'll be back tomorrow to share some pictures from the wedding!

Welcome to Bijou Lovely. This blog is named after my great grandmother, Bijou Lillian, who encouraged me to embrace all the lovely things that the world has to offer. I hope to provide you with inspiration for sewing, quilting, photography, design, and daily life here at Bijou Lovely! It's truly lovely to have you here.

Pretty dress, Holly. What fun to have sisters.
