9 just for kicks.

8.16.2011

I stitched up this stuffed ball this weekend from the Just for Kicks Ball pattern in AMH's Seams to Me book.  Little Alaina turns one today so I figured she needed a new toy to match the quilt I gave her last year.

Sewing  hexagons and pentagons together into three dimensional objects was a little harder than I anticipated!  It is definitely not perfect, but I think she'll have fun playing with it anyway.  Happy birthday Ali!

  1. It's beautiful. I can imagine that was pretty difficult to construct, but the result is very impressive!

  4. Super cute! She will love it- it's perfect for a one year old :) Both my kids loved playing stuffed toys that "crinkled" when they squeezed them- you know, like when you squish up an empty Sun Chip bag? I wonder if you could back some of the fabrics with a leftover bag to give it that crinkly sound? Hmmm...or add little ribbon "tags", like a taggie blanket?

  5. That's one of those projects that's always caught my eye. What a cool idea to give it as a one-year-old gift!
