10 bright stripes.

3.20.2012

Nothing new here today really, just another brightly striped quilt for a baby boy.
I make these a lot, I know.  But sometimes simple is best.  This one is very similar to the mustache quilt, but without the mustache!  The back is different though, it's really cute!
This print is by Suzy Ultman, in her Critter Community collection for Riley Blake.  It's on sale right now on fabric.com.  I think it would make an adorable whole cloth quilt as well, with echo quilting to outline the blocks!
I quilted it with wavy lines (I filmed the wavy quilting tutorial while making this one) and bound it in Kona Medium Gray.
Here it is all folded up and ready to be shipped off to its new home.
I'm still a fan of simple stripes, so it's safe to say this won't be the last one of these you'll see around here.

  1. Fabrics these days can be so colorful and interesting themselves. I think that simple patterns are often the best way for the fabrics to shine. Love the quilt. I think any baby could very happy playing on this quilt.

  2. Nope I never get tired of the stripes either. So so cute! Also, thanks so much for posting your wavy line video. I have already done 2 baby quilts that have been waiting for top stitching since I watched it. I had so much fun doing it that I posted a link to your video on my little blog :-)

  8. i really love stripe quilts almost as much as i love simple patchwork. they are so simple and so fast to finish and they look perfect every single time. the wavy quilting is so great! it really makes the seam lines look like they are moving!
