I am working really hard this week on a new quilt for Love Patchwork & Quilting. I can't share it with you just yet but I did want to share a little bit of the view in my sewing room this week, the rainbow of color is just so pretty.
I am very grateful for the generous team at Robert Kaufman for sending me a ton of Kona Cotton to use in this quilt! I supplemented it with some yardage from Pink Chalk Fabrics and I think I have almost the entire Kona rainbow now!
Hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend!

Weekends Baby Quilt.
5.22.2014
I always seem to find myself scrambling at the last minute to make quilts for baby showers! Please tell me I'm not the only person that does this? This super simple layout is one of my go-to patterns for quick little gifts. I've had this jelly roll of Weekends by Erin McMorris forever, and I had already joined it to some gray fabric for another project a long time ago. I decided to cut them apart again to use them here, as the colors in the fabric seemed perfect for this little girl quilt! Plus I got rid of an old untouched WIP in the process, which is always nice!
I added in a few solids and extra prints of varying widths to mix things up a bit. I wanted it to be girly, but not too girly.
I like practicing my FMQ on these little quilts, so I quilted this one with big loops along each strip! It was fun.
It's bound with a sweet purple gingham that I really love.
I pieced together some random scraps and strips to make the back. Such a great way to use up little cuts of fabric.
This one was shipped off to a baby shower a few weeks ago. I hope it will be well loved!

Amsterdam Quilt.
5.21.2014
I had the opportunity to stitch up this springy tulip quilt for Cloud 9 Fabrics to hang in their booth at Quilt Market. It's called the Amsterdam Quilt, and you can find the free pattern for the quilt on the Cloud 9 website now!
I can't take credit for the cute tulip design, Michelle Engel Bencsko designed it, I just figured out the math and sewed it all together. I got to use the beautiful new fabric line from Eloise Renouf, called Shape of Spring, which is shipping to stores this month! I love the colors and patterns in this line!
I used my favorite wavy quilting method for the quilting, which took forever since I quilted the lines so close together, but it is always worth the extra time in the end.
My dog is funny and loves modeling with quilts, even though he usually avoids the camera at all costs. This one was no exception!
Thanks Cloud 9 Fabrics for the opportunity, I had fun making this quilt! Can't wait to see the other Amsterdam Quilts made with this pattern!

Log Cabin Quilting.
5.06.2014
Susan let me stitch up the Week 1 project for her Log Cabin Quilting class early, since I'll be traveling a bunch during the next few weeks! I made a block for her first project, the log cabin pillow, and I am definitely looking forward to getting home to finish it! The sewing here was super simple, and I think it took me longer to decide on what fabrics to use than it did to sew it all together! :)
Turns out Lotta's Mormor collection plays pretty well with Leah Duncan's Meadow! These are not really my usual colors but I really like them together.
Log Cabin Quilting starts today, May 6th, and a new class is released each week for four weeks! Make sure to check out the trailer for Log Cabin Quilting here, read more about the class on Susan's blog here, and I really recommend subscribing to Creativebug and taking the class! These are affiliate links, but this is truly my honest opinion (and I pay for my own monthly subscription!). I have taken several classes and have never been disappointed, they are really all great!
Creativebug is giving away a 3 month subscription to one of my readers!
Update: This giveaway is now closed. Congrats to our winner, Ang-e!
