19 Modern Solids Challenge Progress.

9.30.2014

I've been working really hard on my Modern Solids Challenge quilt the past few days!  I am a little behind due to waiting for my background fabric to arrive and then promptly getting sick as soon as it got here, but I am hoping to finish very very soon! It took a few marathon assembly line sewing days to finish all the blocks. These blocks take quite awhile to finish, especially while making just one at a time. I made them in large batches and it seemed to go a little faster.
Paper piecing makes such a mess, but the precision is worth it in my opinion. I think I filled up an entire garbage can with all the little trimmings!
Once I started hanging them up on the design wall, I got pretty excited. I wasn't really sure I was going to like them or not at first!
I spent last night basting and I'm looking forward to getting started on the quilting today!

  1. Ohh, this is so lovely!!! I can't wait to see the full reveal! Also, I love that you use a milk glass bowl (vase?) for trimmings. I really need to pull out one of my own now for the same purpose!
