12 2D jungle quilt.

7.27.2010

This quilt reminds me a little of a jungle.  Blue skies, bright sun, gray rocks, brown soil, and lots of green!  And let's not forget the animals (2D Zoo by Alexander Henry).
I love making these striped quilts, the cutting is therapeutic because it doesn't require much thought (perfect after a long day of work).  Plus it allows the fabrics to really be the focal point of the design.  I love how the colors came together in this one, I wasn't sure they were going to work at first.

The back is pieced with a little "X" marks the spot!  Now all we need is a treasure map (and a treasure, does anyone want to donate?).
Straight line quilted as usual, I will never tire of the look of this quilting.
This one is off to the lovely Brit. I hope the baby boy she gifts it to takes it on lots of adventures!

  11. I want to make this, have never made a quilt before but love the strip idea with a solid fabric. Quilting 101... what size is this? I want to make a keepsake quilt for a one year old little girl's birthday.
