11 Chalet Sewing Retreat.

6.25.2014

I was able to get together with a few close friends a few weekends ago for our annual sewing retreat.  Though we did not actually stay in a chalet this year, we opted to call it the same thing.  We stayed at a farmhouse in New Glarus, WI, and it even had a barn quilt!
There was lots of chatting, eating, and of course sewing.  It's so nice to spend time with friends doing something you all love!  I started working on a new quilt using some Cotton + Steel basics!

Anna ended up taking these pretty trimmings home to share with the birds.  I want to see these woven into a nest!
We also dyed a ton of fabric and yarn while we were there!  It's nice to be able to do these types of things outside, as they can get a little messy!
Here are the fabrics I dyed, some using Jacquard fabric dyes, and some using indigo.  I just love the colors we ended up with!
I had to take some photos of them with the peonies, they were meant to be together!
We also dyed a bunch of yarn, which is always so fun!  I love being about to experiment with color combinations.

I also took a ton of photos while I was there.  Here are just a few!  The flowers were beautiful there.

Here are the quilt tops that got finished while we were there.  Good job Deedee, Jacey, and Jeni for being productive! :)

And lastly, just few photos of the group.  I miss these girls so much already and can't wait until next year!
